gallery work is always an opportunity to integrate the relationship between the artist, the material, and the viewer.

i also see it as a venue which validates a particular approach or technique.

i consider myself an image maker first and foremost, and will often develop a technique to accommodate that vision.

I'm much better at creating golf art than playing the game. I frequently will slow down the play of others to photograph a given event, mood, or landscape.

two of my favorite passions come together in these pieces: baseball and glass.

some of my earliest work is baseball-related. i see it as a form of American folk art. i used the theme as a way to further my understanding of the material, and the process of kiln formed glass.
